Former Vice President Kamala Harris addressed a deadly incident involving Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents in Minneapolis, where a woman was shot and killed on January 7, 2026.
The shooting occurred during a large-scale federal immigration enforcement operation in the city, amid heightened tensions over the Trump administration’s deployment of thousands of agents to the area.
Harris posted:
“Today in Minneapolis, ICE agents shot and killed a woman in a shocking incident. Governor Walz has announced the state will ensure a fair investigation, and I am grateful for his swift action. Many of us have seen the horrifying and painful video, which makes it clear that the Trump administration’s explanation of this shooting is pure gaslighting. A full and fair investigation at the state level is absolutely necessary.”
Her statement referenced circulating video footage of the encounter and expressed support for Minnesota Governor Tim Walz’s commitment to a state-led probe into the death of 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good.
The post came as federal officials alongside Trump and his administration described the shooting as self-defense, while state and local leaders disputed that account and called for accountability.
