U.S. Representative Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) posted an update on X regarding criminal referrals she submitted to the Department of Justice involving Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and Attorney General Keith Ellison.
In her post, Luna stated:
“The DOJ has confirmed receipt of criminal referrals for @GovTimWalz & @AGEllison. I look forward to the findings of the investigation and potential prosecution.”
The announcement follows Luna’s earlier referrals, which stemmed from testimony during a January 7, 2026, House Oversight Committee hearing on fraud and misuse of federal funds in Minnesota’s social services programs. The referrals allege that Walz and Ellison were knowingly complicit in a large-scale fraud scheme primarily affecting the state’s Somali community.
Luna’s thread included images, likely documentation related to the DOJ’s acknowledgment of receipt, and directly tagged the accounts of Walz and Ellison.
This development comes amid an ongoing congressional investigation into billions in alleged taxpayer funds diverted through Minnesota programs, with the DOJ already having charged numerous individuals in related cases.
