“Republicans done effed up, and they know it. We knew it months ago,” Jeffries said in the video. “Republicans have been losing elections, and Democrats have been winning elections since January of last year. That’s an irrefutable fact. Democrats haven’t lost a single meaningful election — not one. Not one.”
The Democratic leader went on to warn Republican lawmakers that their influence may be waning, even within their own ranks. “At what point will Republican extremists come to the conclusion that your reach ain’t long enough and your peeps ain’t strong enough? You are on the verge of losing control of the House of Representatives,” Jeffries said. “This is grown-man B.I. Get you rolled in the tree, y’all. Your reach ain’t long enough, Gunny. Your peeps ain’t strong enough. Gonna win? Yeah, well.”
Jeffries’ remarks come amid a period of Republican control of both Congress and the White House, with President Donald Trump currently in office. The House Minority Leader’s video reflects a broader Democratic message emphasizing recent electoral successes and confidence heading into the midterm cycle.
While the statement is partisan, it highlights Democrats’ strategy of framing Republican governance as faltering and of positioning the party as the likely victor in the next House elections. Such messaging may energize the Democratic base ahead of November and set the tone for the midterm campaign.
