Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.) issued a forceful statement this week, emphasizing her commitment to holding sexual predators accountable and advocating for victims. In a post shared on social media, Mace wrote, “You’re either on the side of protecting vulnerable children or you’re on the side of protecting predators who prey on vulnerable children. There is no middle ground. You’re either with the kids or you’re against them. I know where I stand, and I’ll stay standing until every predator is held accountable.”

Her comments come amid renewed scrutiny of the files tied to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, which were publicly released in part on January 30. Lawmakers, including Mace, were given access to the unredacted documents in a Department of Justice reading room, revealing names that had previously been redacted. Speaking on “Piers Morgan Uncensored,” Mace said, “You would be shocked, Piers, at some of the names that I have seen that came across the DOJ in emails that the DOJ is protecting. And we’re talking about people on both sides of the aisle. We’re talking about famous people, rich people, people in power, prime ministers, former prime ministers, former presidents, et cetera, media personalities that are named in these files.”

A vocal supporter of Epstein’s survivors, Mace has long advocated for transparency and accountability. She has publicly discussed her own experience as a sexual assault survivor and has been active in meetings with victims of Epstein’s crimes. Following a September meeting with survivors, Mace wrote that she was deeply affected by the experience, noting, “I feel the immense pain of how hard all victims are fighting for themselves because we know absolutely no one will fight for us.”

Mace has also worked with colleagues across party lines to advance legislation aimed at increasing transparency in the investigation of Epstein-related crimes. Late last year, she joined Democrats to pass the Epstein Files Transparency Act, a measure designed to ensure public access to critical information regarding the financier’s network and criminal activity.
Her statements reflect both a personal and political commitment to confronting sexual abuse at the highest levels of power. As unredacted files continue to generate public attention, Mace’s insistence on accountability signals ongoing scrutiny of those connected to Epstein and a broader call for systemic transparency.
