MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell spent more than half of the $352,000 he raised in individual donations during the first two and a half weeks of his December 2025 campaign for Minnesota governor purchasing copies of his autobiography, What Are the Odds? From Crack Addict to CEO, according to campaign finance records released by the Minnesota Campaign Finance Board.
The campaign finance report lists three separate purchases of Lindell books totaling nearly $190,000 from his company, MyPillow, which Lindell said is employee-owned. The expenses are categorized as “Advertising – general: Mike Lindell Books.”
Minnesota Reformer reached him by phone, saying Lindell said he distributes the books to voters instead of traditional campaign flyers. “When we’re going around to all the places in Minnesota, other people are giving a flyer. I’m giving them the whole book so they know who I am,” he said. He estimated the campaign has given away 20,000 to 25,000 copies, though it is unclear if the campaign paid full retail price or used promotional discounts.

Lindell launched his campaign on Dec. 11, 2025, joining a field of 10 Republican candidates, including House Speaker Lisa Demuth, state Rep. Kristin Robbins, 2022 GOP nominee Scott Jensen, and Kendall Qualls, an army veteran and health care executive. Lindell has said he cannot self-fund the campaign. “Absolutely not. I can’t self-fund. I don’t have any money left,” he said at the campaign launch, according to the Minnesota Reformer.
In addition to book purchases, the campaign spent nearly $26,000 on an RV wrap to display Lindell’s image, name, and campaign website, and other standard campaign expenses including signs, web hosting, and consulting services, according to the Campaign Finance Board report.
The information on Lindell’s book purchases, fundraising totals, and campaign expenditures was reported by the Minnesota Reformer and verified with the Minnesota Campaign Finance Board.
