Rep. Anna Paulina Luna sharply criticized congressional ethics oversight, claiming the system is deeply flawed and riddled with corruption. In a social media post, Luna accused members of Congress of engaging in misconduct while oversight bodies do little to hold them accountable. She alleged the existence of “a slush fund they use to pay people off with your tax dollars” and claimed that reports on misconduct are often withheld or strategically leaked around elections.
Congressional ethics is a joke. They have so much dirt on members of Congress, and they do nothing. There is even a slush fund they use to pay people off with your tax dollars. This is part of why the system is so broken. They’re sitting on reports, and if someone steps out of…

Luna highlighted sexual harassment, insider trading, and other illegal activities as ongoing problems within Congress. “Some of us are actually working and busting our asses, these clowns are sexually harassing their own staff, doing illegal crap, insider trading etc. It sets a terrible precedent for the entire institution,” she wrote, emphasizing the moral and ethical damage such behavior inflicts on the legislative body.
The representative called for accountability, condemning predatory behavior and urging members engaging in misconduct to leave office. While her accusations reflect her personal observations and frustrations, they echo longstanding rumors and reports about misconduct in Congress, including sexual harassment allegations, conflicts of interest, and potential violations related to trading on insider information.
Luna said she cannot remove offending members herself due to voting limitations but stressed the importance of public awareness. “The one thing I can do is call it out on here so people know and push to ensure there is no insider trading for any of you,” she wrote, framing her statement as both a warning and a call for transparency.
While there’s no official proof of this alleged slush fund yet, this accusation is already beginning to gain attention and growing questions on what our tax dollars are truly being used for.
Her comments signal growing frustration among some lawmakers with the perceived ineffectiveness of congressional ethics enforcement, particularly amid ongoing discussions about accountability and transparency in Washington.
