Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that more than 80% of Russian targets are currently neutralized by drones, the overwhelming majority of which are domestically produced, underscoring the growing role of unmanned systems in the ongoing conflict.
Speaking at the presentation of the “E-Points” initiative, a new system for tracking and incentivizing military effectiveness, Zelenskyy praised Ukrainian forces for their precision, adaptability, and rapid verification of battlefield results. “Today, artillery matters, but in a different way. Personnel, and above all our infantry, carry out fundamental tasks. But war itself is undergoing an evolution, and everything is becoming extremely dependent on another important element as well – on who is the fastest and the strongest in applying technologies, in adapting technologies, and in truthful verification of what is happening on the battlefield,” he said.
Today, over 80 percent of Russian targets are destroyed by drones, most of which are made in Ukraine. Last year alone, 819,737 Russian targets were hit by drones. The E-Points system tracks every successful drone strike, allowing units to exchange points for drones, electronic warfare systems, and other military gear on the Brave1 Market. Zelenskyy highlighted last December’s milestone: Ukrainian units neutralized 35,000 Russian troops. In total, drones struck nearly 820,000 enemy targets in 2025 alone. On social media, Zelenskyy put these figures in perspective: “Over ten years of war in Afghanistan, the Soviet army lost half as many troops as the Russians lost in just one month of this war.”
Zelenskyy also stressed the need to strengthen defenses against Russian “shaheds” and other UAV threats, urging further improvements in interception rates to protect Ukrainian positions.
The president personally honored servicemembers for their leadership and achievements. Lieutenant Colonel Oleh Huit, commander of the 427th Separate Unmanned Systems Brigade “Raroh,” oversaw approximately 12,000 strikes since establishing his unit. Major Yurii Fedorenko, commander of the 429th Separate Unmanned Systems Brigade “Achilles,” organized the systemic use of drones for reconnaissance and artillery adjustment, with his unit responsible for more than 30,000 successful strikes since June 2025. Both officers received the Order of the Golden Star.
In addition, Zelenskyy awarded multiple members of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Security Service, the National Guard, and the State Border Guard Service with honors including the Order of Merit, Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky, Order “For Courage,” and the Personalized Firearm award.
“Thank you to our warriors for the effective defense of Ukraine, the destruction of enemy targets, the verification of results, and the prompt and reliable information from the battlefield,” Zelenskyy said, emphasizing the central role of technology and initiative in modern warfare.
