President Donald Trump posted calling for an immediate investigation into Congresswoman Ilhan Omar’s finances.
“Congresswoman Ilhan Omar is worth over $30 Million Dollars. There is no way such wealth could have been accumulated, legally, while being paid the salary of a politician. She should be investigated for Financial and Political Crimes, and that investigation should start, NOW!” Trump wrote.

The post follows Trump’s recent remarks defending federal immigration enforcement operations in Minnesota. Over the weekend, Trump criticized state and local officials for resisting the actions, framing them as efforts to remove “some of the most violent criminals in the World” from the country.
Trump specifically called out Minnesota Democratic leaders, including Omar and Governor Tim Walz, alleging they were diverting attention from “the 18 Billion Dollar, Plus, FRAUD, that has taken place in the State.” He also labeled some of the demonstrators opposing federal enforcement as “highly paid professional agitators and anarchists.”
Trump Said:
“ICE is removing some of the most violent criminals in the World from our Country, and bring them back home, where they belong. Why is Minnesota fighting this? Do they really want murderers and drug dealers to be ensconced in their community? The thugs that are protesting include many highly paid professional agitators and anarchists. Is this really what Minnesota wants? The crooked Governor and ‘Congresswoman’ Omar, who married her brother, don’t mind because it keeps the focus of attention off the 18 Billion Dollar, Plus, FRAUD, that has taken place in the State! Don’t worry, we’re on it!”
The controversy stems from federal ICE operations in Minneapolis that have sparked protests, partly triggered by the fatal shooting of 37-year-old Renée Nicole Good during an operation. Critics have condemned the federal presence as heavy-handed, while Trump has framed it as necessary to protect communities from violent criminals.
Trump has previously threatened to invoke the Insurrection Act if state officials did not curb protests against federal agents. Governor Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey have urged peaceful demonstrations while pursuing legal action against the federal government, calling the operations unconstitutional.
Trump’s Truth Social post on Omar marks a sharp escalation, shifting his critique from state leadership and federal enforcement to alleging financial wrongdoing by a sitting member of Congress.
