“Omar Is Like the Chief Somali Pirate on the Ship… To Make $30 Million Without Any Evidence or Proof When You Were a Broke Congresswoman a Few Years Ago Is Pretty Crazy,” — Rep. Randy Fine Probes Ilhan Omar’s Fortune — “This Scandal Reeks of Corruption. It’s Time to Hold Her Accountable”

Rep. Randy Fine has intensified public scrutiny of Rep. Ilhan Omar’s personal finances, raising questions about her reported wealth and calling for investigations into her financial disclosures amid a broader political clash over federal immigration enforcement in Minnesota. Fine’s comments came during an interview and follow a social media post from President Donald Trump demanding an immediate investigation into Omar’s finances.

During an appearance on Newsmax, Fine accused Omar of improperly accumulating wealth while serving in Congress and pointed specifically to her husband’s winery, which he alleged lacks basic business markers. The host referenced claims that the winery has no listed address, license, website, or wine for sale, while being valued in the tens of millions of dollars. Fine echoed those claims and suggested they pointed to financial misconduct.

“Well, look, it’s like the ‘Quality Leing Center,’” Fine said. “Omar is like the chief Somali pirate on the ship, and she’s showing it in these filings. To make $30 million without any evidence or proof when you were a broke congresswoman just a few years ago reeks of corruption—particularly because her husband wasn’t wealthy.” Fine added that he believed Omar’s financial disclosures reflected broader misconduct, saying she was “doing the same thing in Congress.”

Fine has been among the lawmakers publicly advocating for disciplinary action against Omar, including calls for her expulsion, though no formal expulsion proceedings have advanced. His remarks rely on allegations rather than findings from any completed investigation.

The renewed attention follows a post by President Trump on Truth Social calling for an investigation into Omar’s finances. “Congresswoman Ilhan Omar is worth over $30 Million Dollars. There is no way such wealth could have been accumulated, legally, while being paid the salary of a politician,” Trump wrote. “She should be investigated for Financial and Political Crimes, and that investigation should start, NOW!”

Trump’s comments came amid escalating tensions in Minnesota over federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement operations in Minneapolis. Those operations have prompted protests, some of which were sparked by the fatal shooting of 37-year-old Renée Nicole Good during an enforcement action. Critics have described the federal presence as excessive, while the Trump administration has framed the operations as necessary to remove violent criminals.

Randy Fines statement along with Trump’s recent post marks a notable escalation, moving beyond criticism of immigration policy and public safety to direct allegations of financial misconduct against a sitting member of Congress. As of now, no federal agency has announced a formal investigation into Omar’s finances, and her office has not responded publicly to the specific claims raised by Fine and Trump.
