Kristi Noem issued a direct warning to California Governor Gavin Newsom, stating that federal authorities intend to pursue arrests connected to what she described as the theft of taxpayer dollars. “We are going to come to you, Governor Newsom, and we are going to arrest every single individual that has ties to this kind of stealing of taxpayer dollars,” Noem said.
She characterized the situation as an expanding investigation, saying, “We think that this is just the tip of the iceberg.” Noem referenced developments in Minnesota as a starting point for broader findings. “Minnesota is unbelievable, what we have seen, but it is leading us to networks all over the country and overseas and we are going to follow every single one of them,” she stated.
Noem cited Homeland Security Investigations while describing the scope of the effort. “Homeland Security Investigations is an incredible team of individuals who go after human traffickers, sex traffickers, but the fraud that we have in our public programs that are tied into California, absolutely,” she said.
Reaffirming her stance on enforcement and accountability, Noem added, “We will be there,” followed by, “We will hold them accountable. We will bring them to justice!”
