Florida Governor Candidate James Fishback Says He’s Joined Tinder to “Meet Young Female Voters” — Insists “Florida Should Offer Paid Maternity Leave to All Moms”

Fishback, 31, posted a screenshot of his Tinder profile on social media showing the message, “My hottest take is… Florida should offer paid maternity leave to all moms,” and said he joined the app “to meet young female voters where they are, and share my plan to make it easier for them to get married, buy a home, and raise a family.”

The candidate has made affordability and family formation central themes of his campaign, arguing that rising housing costs and the growing role of large investment firms in the real estate market have made it harder for young Americans to start families.

“I’m running to make life more affordable for you and your family. I’m fighting so every Floridian can earn a great-paying job, buy a home, raise a family, and retire with dignity,” Fishback says on his campaign website.

Speaking in a recent television interview, Fishback criticized institutional investors for buying large numbers of single-family homes, saying the practice undermines long-term family wealth.

“In America, the single-family home is the essence of the American dream,” Fishback said during an appearance on Newsmax’s “Carl Higbie Frontline.” “The number one asset for families, multi-generationally, is their home. You cannot have private equity giants like Blackstone buying up our homes, forcing us into renting. That’s un-American, it’s unacceptable. Homes are not to be traded amongst hedge funds. They’re for families,” he said.

Fishback said he joined Tinder to meet young female voters and share his family-focused policy plans, an unconventional outreach that underscores his efforts to connect with voters outside traditional campaign media channels.

Fishback is seeking the Republican nomination for Florida governor and has framed his campaign around making life more affordable for families and supporting economic conditions that make it easier to “earn a great-paying job, buy a home, raise a family, and retire with dignity.”
