Dutch Far-Right Activist Eva Vlaardingerbroek Banned From Traveling to the UK, Says It Was ‘Exactly Three Days After I Criticized Keir Starmer’

The U.K. Home Office revoked Eva Vlaardingerbroek’s travel permission after deeming her presence not to be “conducive to the public good.”

Vlaardingerbroek, a former member of the far-right (‘far-right’ as described on her wikipedia page) Dutch Forum for Democracy political party, on Wednesday posted a screenshot of the decision to X, along with a video explaining the ban. The action comes as Donald Trump’s U.S. administration pressures European leaders over their alleged suppression of free speech.

Vlaardingerbroek had previously spoken at a rally in London arranged by a far-right activist known as Tommy Robinson, using the platform in September to call for the “remigration” of immigrants and to talk about the “replacement of our people.”

She linked the U.K. decision directly to her Friday post criticizing Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s action against X, as he seeks to address a backlash over sexualized deepfakes by Elon Musk’s AI tool Grok. In that post, she accused Starmer of wanting to crack down on X under the pretense of “women’s safety,” while allowing the ongoing rape and killing of British girls by migrant rape gangs, calling him an “evil, despicable man.”

In her video posted Wednesday, Vlaardingerbroek described receiving an unexpected email from the UK government stating her presence was “not conducive to the public good,” with no reason given, no right to appeal, and zero due process. She highlighted the suspicious timing—exactly three days after her criticism of Starmer—and questioned why she was barred while thousands of illegal immigrants enter the country daily through the Channel without similar scrutiny. She noted she had not applied for a new ETA but referenced her previous visit in September for the Tommy Robinson rally and her planned return in May, which is now not possible. “It’s pretty dystopian,” she said. “It’s a very, very severe limitation of my freedom… They just decided—Keir Starmer just decided—that someone like me is not welcome in the UK.”

The reason given to Vlaardingerbroek read that her electronic travel authorization (ETA), which European citizens need to enter Britain under post-Brexit rules, had been revoked.

A Home Office official, who was not authorized to speak publicly, told POLITICO the ETA had been “cancelled for being non-conducive to the public good.”

Vlaardingerbroek previously gained some trans-Atlantic attention with her media appearances with prominent American conservative commentator Tucker Carlson. She has also been publicly linked to tech entrepreneur Elon Musk, who has interacted with the activist on his X social media platform.

Vlaardingerbroek played a prominent role in the Dutch farming protests of 2023 against EU environmental measures and has advocated that the Netherlands quit the bloc. “I would love to be the new Nigel Farage,” she said in an interview with the Spectator, referencing the prominent British Brexiteer.

In her posts on Wednesday, Vlaardingerbroek concluded that the ban proves her earlier point: “I guess my point that the UK is no longer a free country has been indisputably proven.”
